The Forum, Bridlington
The Forum in Bridlington is a good example of the sort of decorative effect which can be acheived on a building fascia. Contracted by Jason Noble & Son Amusements (after completing another project at this venue a number or years earlier), Universal Fibre Optics supplied crystal fibre optics for the decorative canopy in these photographs.
The structural steel work was manufactured and fitted by steel workers recommended by UFO. The fibre, 2mm black sheathed stranded polymer fibre in up to 10m lengths was fed through the metalwork by the client. The ends were then terminated on-site by UFO using CR4 crystal fittings fitted to the end ferrules on the fibre and inserted into the steelwork using plastic ATCR25 crystal fitting tubes.
There were 750 crystals used in total. The light sources used were QFX 150W DMX with metal halide lamps giving the option of twinkling or colour changing effects. Eight of these light sources were required to drive the 750 tails.
Equipment Used:
2mm sheathed polymer fibre
UFO CR4 crystal fittings. Fitted using ATCR25 crystal fitting tubes.
