Leeds City Museum

Work began in autumn 2005 on an ambitious project to turn Leeds old Civic Theatre into an exciting new museum for Leeds.

The result is a lively, friendly and welcoming visitor attraction spread over Four floors combining exhibitions and displays. Display case manufacturer Click Netherfield installed Inca, Vista and Prism display cases throughout the museum with fibre optic lighting being the favoured choice of lighting.

The different gallery locations (some without natural light) and the designers high expectations meant that various types of fibre optic lighting had to be used to achieve the desired result.

Universal Fibre Optics supplied a combination of glass fibre harnesses and end fittings, light bars, light tubes and gantry type systems along with over 150 locally dimmable halogen light sources.

Equipment used:

Light sources: Dimmable Aurora Halogen

Fibre harnesses: Glass fibre harnesses
