Holmes Place

The photograph above shows surface mounted fibre optics backlighting feature glass panels and spilling light onto the ceiling at Holmes Place, High St. Kensington, London. Here, maintenance was an important factor as the panels are located at a high level and access would require scaffolding, with the added complication of the swimming pool below.

The lightsources are installed in the changing rooms behind the glass panelled walls. Due to the humid environment, stainless steel fibre optic end fittings were used. A fibre optic ceiling feature can also just be seen in the photograph above.

The other two photographs show the entrance canopy to Holmes Place, Notting Hill, dramatically enhanced by safe, electricity free fibre optic lighting. Easy access is available to the lightsource, located conveniently inside the building.

Equipment used:

Light sources: Canopy - 150w Metal Halide x 2 - white light only, Glazed Panels - 150w Metal halide feeding four panels.

Fibre harnesses: Canopy - 6mm glass fibre, Glazed Panels - 7mm glass fibre

End fittings: Canopy - UFO E1 stainless steel eyeball, Glazed Panels - UFO 10DBR fittings
