Floors Castle

Once again, Universal Fibre Optics were able to utilise light tubes to illuminate precious artefacts on display at Floors Castle, Roxburgh.

Glass tails of 2mm diameter spaced at 75mm intervals provide light to the display cases. In this installation, the tubes themselves were colour matched to the display case material to ensure the light tubes were as unobtrusive as possible. As these can be installed either horizontally or vertically, all the display cases were able to be illuminated efficiently.

This discreet form of fibre optic lighting, with hidden lightsources, also eliminates harmful UV and IR rays emitted by conventional lighting which can damage precious material on display.
